Fred & Betsy's Living Room
When Betsy wanted help with her New Canaan living room, I was excited to see what direction it would take. We have worked together on
other rooms in her house and always have fun collaborating. Betsy had all the furniture but wanted to update her wonderful heirloom
antiques with new fabrics. We kept the existing couch and rug and one yellow floral chair.
We decided on a cheerful plaid for the windows which really brought all the colors of the room together and because it is a taffeta silk,
remained sophisticated. I chose a goblet pleat for the heading and we used nice substantial dark wood hardware to compliment the
furniture. Two chairs were covered in a gorgeous lampas floral and we decided on a beautiful dotted fabric and embroidered silk for the
other two chairs.
Betsy incorporated many special accents that have been passed on to her and includes pictures of her family with her daughters and her
grandchildren proudly displayed.
