Lee & John's Bedroom

Before
Rather than replace Lee's perfectly fine
bedroom furniture, I decided to paint and
slightly distress them to add the final
splash of color to her room.  We took the
blues straight from the fabric palate and
decided on a pale turquoise, bright aqua,
and deep navy for the armoire.  The
painted furniture is really better than
anything new we were looking at and it
gave me a chance to paint which I really
love.  It is also very green to use what
you already have.  Lee asked me, if I was
so inspired during a creative frenzy, and
wanted to paint something for her room,
she would hang it up.  This puffer fish just
came out of my head perhaps after too
much paint stripper fumes....She works
and we love it.  These pillows I made with
grosgrain and linen burlap.  They aren't
necessarily comfortable but they sure are
pretty.

Lee's bedroom is gorgeous, fun and reflects her
love for the beach.  I found the most gorgeous
Trina Turk fabric and knew Lee would be on board
and equally in love with the colors and design.  The
shades worked beautifully and the valance gave
immediate height to the room.  We are going to rip
out the rug and polish up the hardwood floors
waiting underneath.  The walls are painted
Benjamin Moore Seashell. The bed is Ethan Allen.
