Summer's  Room
When I told Summer she could
paint her new room any color
she wanted, I was not
expecting orange to be her
absolute "has to be" response.
I was a little worried.  However,
when I was able to find some
amazing Designer's Guild fabric
for the roman shades, that set
the tone for the room and
eased my mind.  I loved the
bright pink colors and bursts of
orange. I used a chocolate
mohair velvet as a border to
make the scroll pattern really
pop.

Finding the right shade of
orange paint is not easy either.
One girl's Hermes is another's
Home Depot orange.  I wanted
to do a true tangerine orange
without copping out on a
lighter peach or a yellowy
orange.  I ended up using
Benjamin Moore's Tangy
Orange.

Summer also insisted that her
room have a theme: Owls!
Cool, I could do owls!  We
found two funky owl prints for
her duvet and I threw that nice
chocolate mohair velvet as a
welt cording tie it together.
